Bonjour Manji, comment te sens-tu juste avant ton set Conspiracy Hard Tours ? Peux-tu te présenter à nos lecteurs qui ne te connaissent pas encore ?
Bonjour à tous, je m’appelle Manji, je suis un dj et producteur de rawstyle et je viens des Pays-Bas. Je suis très excité d’être ici car c’est seulement la deuxième fois que je viens jouer en France.
D’où vient ton personnage de samouraï ? Peux-tu nous raconter l’histoire qui se cache derrière ? Est-il lié à quelque chose de personnel ?
Non, ce n’est pas lié à quelque chose de personnel, nous avons trouvé le nom Bloodlust et nous avons pensé qu’un personnage de samouraï correspondait vraiment à ce nom et nous avons décidé de l’utiliser comme marque. Il n’y a pas vraiment d’histoire derrière, juste le fait que je trouve ça plutôt cool.
Dans tes paroles, on peut trouver beaucoup de références à la rédemption par le combat mais aussi beaucoup de tonalités mélancoliques, comment fais-tu correspondre ces deux atmosphères dans tes morceaux ?
Je pense que ces deux choses vont vraiment ensemble parce que la joie s’accorde bien avec la rédemption, le fait d’aller au bout des choses, de travailler pour ses rêves. Cela crée une ambiance vraiment épique dans mes morceaux et même si chacun d’entre eux est différent, je comprends ce à quoi tu fais référence.
Comme Rejecta, ton premier single, Imma Boss, a été révélé au Gelredome, qu’as tu ressenti lorsque tu as vu la foule devenir folle, tout en restant anonyme de ton côté ? Dans la bande-annonce de ton album, on apprend que cela fait 10 ans que tu produis de la musique…
Je ne savais pas que Rejecta était dans la même situation à ses débuts. En effet, cela fait dix ans que je produis. J’ai sorti mon premier titre avec End of Line sous un autre alias : c’était Magnificent à l’époque. Quand j’ai fait Imma Boss, je l’ai juste envoyé à End of Line et ils l’ont joué à Hard Bass et nous avons décidé de me signer dans EOL pour de bon et de changer mon nom de scène. C’était vraiment cool de faire ça parce que personne ne savait de qui venait le morceau en fait.
Hier, c’était la soirée de célébration de la sortie de ton album, c’était complet sold out, quel succès ! Comment as-tu vécu cette soirée ?
Hier, en effet, c’était la soirée de sortie de mon album, c’était complètement fou ! C’était l’une de mes meilleures soirées. Les gens connaissent les titres, il y avait des sing-alongs sur chaque track, c’était vraiment dingue. Voir les gens apprécier autant l’album m’a vraiment fait chaud au cœur et je n’oublierai jamais cette nuit, c’était génial.
Tu es membre d’End Of Line records et il y a encore un dernier membre du groupe avec lequel tu n’as pas encore collaboré, avez-vous des plans pour produire un morceau avec D-Sturb ?
Nous n’avons pas vraiment prévu de collaborer mais peut-être dans le futur, je suis ouvert à cela, bien sûr !
Tu n’as pas encore été responsable d’un hymne. Si tu pouvais choisir un festival pour le faire, lequel ça serait ?
Je pense que Supremacy serait celui que je choisirais, ce serait un énorme honneur de faire un hymne pour cette soirée parce que je pense que c’est le meilleur événement indoor, qui représente aussi mon style et ce serait carrément mon premier choix.

Hello Manji, how are you feeling right before your set Conspiracy Hard Tours ? Can you introduce yourself to our readers that don’t know you yet ?
Hi everyone, my name is Manji, I am a rawstyle dj and producer and I come from the Netherlands. I’m very excited to be here since it is the second time I come to France.
Where does your samurai character come from ? Can you tell us about the story behind it ? Is it linked to something personal ?
No, it’s not linked to something personal, we came up with the name Bloodlust and we thought that a samurai character really would fit that name and we decided to use it as my brand. There isn’t really a story behind it, just the fact that I think this is pretty cool.
In your lyrics, we can find a lot of reference to redemption by the fighting but also a lot of melancholic vibes, how do you match this two atmospheres in your tracks ?
I think that these two things really go together because happiness matches well with redemption, trying to get something done, working for your dreams. That is creating a really epic vibe to the tracks and even if every track is different, I know which tracks you talk about.
Just as Rejecta your first track, Imma Boss, has been revealed at the Gelredome, how did you feel when you saw the crowd go crazy while remaining anonymous, and then come out of the shadows? In your album trailer, we learned that it’s been 10 years since you produced music…
I didn’t know, Rejecta was in the same position when he began. Indeed, I have been producing for ten years. I released my first track with End of Line in a different name : that was Magnificent back then. When I made Imma Boss, I just sent it to End of Line and they played it at Hard Bass and we decided to sign me in EOL for real and change the name. It was really cool to do that because no one knew who the track actually was from.
Yesterday was your album release party, what a milestone for you, it was sold out. How did you live that night ?
Yesterday indeed, there was my album party, it was fucking crazy ! That was one of my best nights ever. People know the tracks, there were sing-alongs on every track, it was really crazy. Seeing people enjoy the album so much really warmed my heart and I will never forget that night, it was awesome.
You are a member of End Of Line records and there is still a last member of the group with whom you can collaborate, do you have any plans to produce a track with D-Sturb ?
We actually did not make any plans to collaborate but maybe in the future, I am definitely open for that, sure !
You haven’ been responsible for an anthem yet. If you could choose one festival to do so, which one would it be ?
I think Supremacy would be the one that I would choose, it would be a huge honor to do an anthem for that party because I think it is the best indoor event which represents my sound as well and that would definitely be the choice.
